Dr. Mary-Lou Galician, creator of REALISTIC ROMANCE®—The Thinking Person’s Relationship Remedy™ and founder and director of the Realistic Romance® Institute for Research & Education (RRIRE), is also Head of Media Analysis & Criticism in the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communication at Arizona State University. Also known affectionately and widely as "The Original Dr. FUN," she's an award-winning mass media researcher, educator, author, and performer with more than 25 years of experience in the mass media—and an internationally respected media literacy advocate. An expert on mass media and romantic relationships, she holds an earned doctorate from a major nationally accredited university (Memphis State University, now University of Memphis) with a clinical residency in human values and medical ethics at the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences. In addition to her work with the public, Dr. Galician has taught thousands of university students from all academic majors in her popular classes, including Sex, Love, and Romance in the Mass Media—the class she created and for which she wrote two highly regarded scholarly textbooks that are used at colleges nationwide. At ASU, her in-demand mega-classes of 200 students always have a waiting list. |
